Lauren Sugihara - Muay Thai Fighter

This is DJ, model and Muay Thai fighter Lauren Sugihara.
Her DJ name by the way is DJ Ms.Vicious.
Appropriate huh?
Besides DJing modeling and fighting, Lauren was also in the 2007 WWE Diva Search.
Imagine had she won....

Anyway, Lauren's teacher is legendary coach and MMA Zen-master, Clarence Thatch who trained with the Gracies and Bruce Lee.
Thatch's training may have helped save Lauren's life.
You see, Lauren is an alcoholic, and she credits Master Thatch and 3-D Martial Arts' Muay Thai training with helping to lift her up and help her overcome her addiction.

Jung Da-Yeon - Mom-chan Diet Wii Figureobics

Jung Da-Yeon maybe 44 years old and have two kids, but look at her.
Yes one of the most popular Asian fitness women on this blog is about to become even more popular.
"Momjjang ajumma" (mom with a striking figure) is about to have her very own Wii game released, Mom-chan Diet Wii Figureobics by Jung Da-Yeon.



The game will feature over thirty exercises, and have camera control, plus management tools for storing your weight, BMI and other vital statistics.

The game will come out this December in Japan and sell for ¥3,990.
So far, no US release is scheduled.

And now I am thinking that Jung may possibly be an immortal.

This lovely young lady is half American, half Vietnamese fitness beauty Cheri Nguyen.
She was born on February 5th, 1980 in Springfield, MO.
Besides being incredibly fit, this five foot one inch beauty has worked as a MMA ring girl, and not satified with that, has gone into training for MMA herself.

Rin Nakai - Female MMA

And another female mixed martial artist....
Female MMA fighter Rin Nakai was recently ranked number seven in the world among female fighters in the Super Flyweight category.
Which kinda confuses me because at Sherdog, Rin is listed at 135 which would put her in the Bantamweight category.
Anyway, one look at her and you can tell why she's on the Asian Fitness blog.
Besides the fact that she has to be in shape to compete in MMA, take a look at those biceps.
And she's five foot one.
Rin's MMA record at the moment is 7-0-0, with 2 wins by TKOs, 2 wins by submission (an armbar and a Kimura/reverse keylock) and 3 wins by decision.



Her last victory was over Megumi Yabushita by Unanimous Decision at GCM - Valkyrie 6 on June 19th, 2010.

Who is Monique Ricardo?

On August 13th and 14th at the Dallas Convention Center in Dallas Texas they will be holding the 2010 IFBB Europa Supershow.
And of course as part of that, they will be holding the IFBB Europa Supershow Bikini competition.
Among the competitors will be Amanda Latona, Nathalia Melo, Sonya Vecchiarelli, Brandy Leaver and a name you should all recognize...Monique Ricardo.

Who is Monique Ricardo?
Well it's our very own Monique Minton.
(I don't know why I keep saying "our very own", she isn't "ours")
Anyway, Monique got married and now she is known as Monique Ricardo.
I wonder if that means I'll have to go back and change all by posts?

Monique has already qualified for the Olympia, and the Europa Supershow will be in her own backyard, so cross your fingers and let's see how she does.
Earlier this year at the 2010 IFBB MuscleContest Pro Bikini, Momo came in second, right behind Sonia Gonzales.

Karen Pang - Updates

One of the most popular women on this blog is the lovely Karen Pang.
Karen is beautiful inside and out.
She's a fitness beauty that really is a nice person.
In case you missed Karen's other two entries here on this blog (this entry gives Karen a hat-trick), let me run this down for you.
She has her ISSA personal training certification, she's a fitness model, a bikini competitor and a CBBF Canadian National Figure Competitor.

Karen recently competed at the BC Provincial Championships and came in 2nd in Bikini.
Why not 1st?
I have no idea.

Lisa Cheng - Female Fitness Competitor

It's been over a year since I did anything on Asian fitness beauty Lisa Cheng, aka "The Hong Kong Spider Woman".
And since that write up, Lisa won the August 2009 Asian Body Fitness and the Miss Fitness Championships in Thailand.

Natalie Pennington - IFBB Bikini Pro

While doing research on these Asian fitness beauties, occasionally I run across someone that is so amazing, I can't believe I hadn’t found her before.
Stunning half Korean, half French IFBB Bikini Pro Natalie Pennington is one of those women.
I think Natalie ranks right up there in the top five most beautiful women I have ever presented on this blog.

IFBB Bikini is a new female fitness competition, just started this year by the IFBB (The International Federation of BodyBuilders), and at first, some people just looked at it as a glorified bikini competition, designed to sell more tickets.

But having seen these ladies in action, I think opinions are changing, as these women work just as hard as other female fitness competitors to get the look the judges want.
Some women have even crossed over from IFBB Figure over to bikini.

Back to Natalie though, this young lady can do something none of the other competitors can do.
She can make you look forward to a trip to the dentist.
Yes, Natalie is a full time dentist.

Natalie has appeared as a fitness model in issue 12 of Status Fitness Magazine, and I think you will see a LOT more of this gorgeous woman in the coming months.

Monique Minton continues to be one of the most popular female fitness competitors on this blog.
And there's little wonder why.
This lovely half filipinia, half polish model has graced the cover of not only female fitness magazines, but muscle and fitness mags like Flex several times.

Chisato Mishima - Asian Fitness Beauty

Asian fitness beauty Chisato Mishima was (and as far as I know still is ) the first Japanese aerobic athlete to compete in the IFSB Ms. Fitness and IFBB Ms. Fitness Professional female fitness competitions.
She was born in Nagoya, Japan on November 17, 1967.
Chisato was always big in sports, becoming a Japan national gymnastics champion during high school.
After graduating with a degree in sociology, she moved to Tokyo and became went into teaching fitness training at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium.
During the first half of the nineties, she became one of Japan's top aerobic competitors.
Around 1995, she moved to London to compete in the European Ms. Fitness women's fitness competition.
While she was in London, she coached several top English and European bodybuilders and taught aerobics at the famous Earls Court Gym.
Chisato qualified for the World Championships to be held in the U.S. and moved to San Diego in 1997.
After competing there, she visited Nice in the South of France to represent Japan in the Ms. Fitness Olympia.
Upon getting her degree in exercise physiology, Chisato moved back to Nagoya.
Then, after retiring from fitness competition, she became a Jodo Instructor at the Haruyoshi Kobudo Dojo in Nagoya, Japan.
Okay, I didn't misspell Judo there...Jodo is a Japanese martial art using short staffs, similar to bōjutsu.

IFBB Figure Pro - Akane Nigro Ismeal

Akane Nigro Ismeal is an IFBB Figure Pro.
This 5'1, 110 pound beauty is of Japanese and Italian decent.
Akane is a former softball and soccer player.
She is married to bodybuilder Malik Ismael, who she met at a gym in 2005 and the two became workout partners.
The couple does training and nutritional advice and they offer posing routine and instructional sessions.

Tanji Johnson Updates

I said in my last entry on the beautiful IFBB fitness pro Tanji Johnson that even though her American Gladiator name was Stealth, I bet you wouldn't have a hard time seeing her.

Well I was right, at the 2009 IFBB Arnold Classic, Tanji came in 16th place.

Watching her practice her routine in the second part of that feature, I couldn't help but think what a MMA fighter she would make.
Of course right now her plate is full enough as a personal trainer and fitness coach.

So I was in Barnes and Noble yesterday and I was looking at the magazines and my eyes landed on this month's Flex Magazine.
And look who is on the cover!
Yes, right there on the right hand side of the cover is our very own Monique Minton.
Okay, she's not "our" very own, but I have done write ups on her here and on my other fitness blogs.
This is the second time the beautiful Monique has appeared on the cover of Flex that I know of.

Gail Kim - Asian Fitness Women

Well we took a departure last time with MMA, so let's move a little further away into the world of pro wrestling.
Even if wrestling is staged, you have to be in shape to take the bumps, bruises and chairshots that wrestlers get every week (and in some cases every night).

So let's start with Gail Kim.
Gail is a Canadian-born pro wrestler, valet, model, and actress of Korean descent.
She has held the Womens Wrestling Championship in both the WWE and TNA.

Before wrestling, Gail participated in basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball and badminton, and was named "Athlete of the Year" twice at York Memorial Collegiate Institute in Toronto.
She studied kinesiology at the University of Toronto and nutrition at Ryerson University.

And of course as I mentioned before, Gail was both the WWE Women's Champion and the TNA Women's World Champion.
